Opening Bell - Sensex | Nifty Future | US Markets | Asian Markets

OPENING BELL: NIFTY FUTURE DOWN +15.10 @ 9668.85, BANK NIFTY FUTURE DOWN +52.10 @ 23520.05 USDINR @ 64.21

Sensex, on Thursday, closed 58 points down at 31213 due to profit booking. Among sectors, Power, Metal and Healthcare gained by over 0.3% to 1.6% each. Among stocks, Asian paints, GAIL and TCS lost over 1.6% to 3.6% each. Market breadth was negative with 1383 declines against 1304 advances.

Nifty closed 16.7 points down at 9,647. Today, we expect markets to open on a flat note on the back of steady global cues.

US Markets closed on a positive note. Dow closed flat and Nasdaq closed 0.4% higher. US markets, today, will see data releases on month-on-month final wholesale inventories.

Asian markets are trading on a mixed note; Nikkei is trading 0.7% up while Hang Seng is trading flat. SGX Nifty is trading flat at 9,675. Indian ADRs ended the day on a mixed note. Among financial ADRs, ICICI Bank closed 2% lower, while HDFC Bank closed 0.4% down. Among IT ADRs, Wipro closed 0.5% down and Infosys declined 0.4%. Tata Motors ADR gained 0.3%.
