Sensex, on Wednesday, closed 80 points up at 31271 as RBI leaves repo rate unchanged. Among sectors, Bankex, metals and healthcare gained by over 0.7% to 1.1% each. Among stocks, M & M, ICICI Bank and Reliance gained by over 1.5% to 1.9% each. Market breadth was positive with 1460 advances against 1200 declines.
Nifty closed 26 points up at 9,663. Today, we expect markets to open on a negative note on the back of negative global cues.
US Markets closed on a positive note. Dow closed 0.2% up while Nasdaq closed 0.3% up. Today, US markets will see data release on natural gas storage.
Asian markets are trading flat today; Nikkei and Hang Seng is trading flat. SGX Nifty is trading 14 points down at 9681. Indian ADRs ended the day on a mixed note. Among financial ADRs, ICICI Bank closed 1.7% up, while HDFC Bank closed 0.4% up. Among IT ADRs, Wipro closed 0.7% down and Infosys closed 1.7% down. Tata Motors ADR closed 0.7% down.
