NEW DELHI: The domestic equity market ended in the red for a second straight day on Friday owing to profit taking at the higher levels by investors.
BSE benchmark Sensex shed 111 points to settle below its milestone the 30,000-mark at 29,918.40.
FMCG major IT CBSE -2.28 %, HDFC Bank BSE -1.60 % and HDFC were the major contributors to the fall. The headline index, which opened at 30,064.60 against previous close of 30,029.74, hit an intraday high and a low of 30,067.64.
