Nifty hovers around 7850; investors cautious on Mauritus treaty -- 11 May 2016

The market slipped at the opening on Wednesday. The Sensex is down 339.95 points at 25432.58, and the Nifty is down 99.75 points at 7788.05. About 142 shares have advanced, 649 shares declined, and 24 shares are unchanged. 

                                                       
Coal India, Tata Motors, BHEL, Bharti Airtel and Adani Port are the top losers, while Hindalco, NTPC and Zee Entertainment are the top gainers.

The 30-share index recouped some of losses and was trading at 25,573, down 200 point or 0.77 per cent. It touched a high of 25,579.14 and a low of 25,409.24 in morning trade. 

The Nifty50 was trading at 7,829 down 58 points or 0.74 per cent. It touched a high of 7,832.90 and a low of 7,780.90 in the first 30 minutes of trade. 

The S&P BSE Midcap Index was down 0.44 per cent and BSE S&P Smallcap Index was trading 0.62 per cent lower. 


NTPC (up 0.43 per cent), Asian PaintsBSE 0.85 % (up 0.06 per cent) were the major Sensex gainers. 

Coal India (down 2 per cent), BHEL (down 1.9 per cent), Tata Motors (down 1.7 per cent) and Adani Ports (down 1.6 per cent) were the major Sensex losers.
