Nifty (Jun) futures closed at a Premium of 9.20 points versus Premium of 22.85 points.

Total Open interest in the market was Rs. 340,877 crore and Rs.7,982 crore was added in open interest.

Nifty call option adds 18.76 lakh shares in open interest whereas put option adds 10.33 lakh shares in open interest.

Stock Market Commentary

Negative cues from international market didn’t deter our markets to open in the positive.

Daily view

Around 3.14 lakh shares were sheds in open interest with decrease in price indicating long unwinding was observed by market participants in today’s trade.

On the options front volatility index has increased in today’s trade by around 3.62 %.

Sensex, on Friday, closed 19 points down at 31056 due to profit booking. Among sectors, Technology, IT and Healthcare lost over 0.7% to 1.5% each. Among stocks, Wipro, Sun Pharma and Lupin  lost over 2.2% to 4.4% each. Market breadth was flat with 1334 advances against 1340 declines.

Nifty closed 10 points up at 9,588. Today, we expect markets to open on a positive note on the back of positive global cues.

US Markets closed on a mixed note. Dow closed flat and Nasdaq closed 0.2% lower. US markets, today, will have speeches of FOMC member Dudley and FOMC member Evans.

Asian markets are trading on a positive note; Nikkei is trading 0.6% up while Hang Seng is trading 1.0% up. SGX Nifty is trading 0.4% up at 9,629. Indian ADRs ended the day on a mixed note. Among financial ADRs, ICICI Bank closed 0.1% lower, while HDFC Bank closed flat. Among IT ADRs, Wipro closed 2.4% down and Infosys declined 2.6%. Tata Motors ADR gained 0.2%.
