Sensex, on Tuesday, closed 172 points up at 29,410 as losses in the previous session was overdone with sentiment also improving as Asian markets recovered after some of the anxiety about Trump’s ability to push his agenda subsided. Among sectors, Consumer durables, Auto and Banks gained over 0.75% to 0.80% each. Among stocks Tata Motors, HDFC and Axis Bank gained over 1.5% to 3.2% each. Market breadth was positive with 1,439 advances against 1,403 declines.
Nifty closed 56 points up at 9,101.Today, we expect markets to open on a flat note on the back of steady global cues.
US Markets closed on a positive note. Dow closed 0.7% higher while Nasdaq closed 0.6% higher. US markets,today, will see data releases on FOMC Member Evans Speaks, Pending Home Sales m/m and Crude Oil Inventories.
Asian markets are trading on amixed note; Nikkei is trading 0.1% lower while Hang Seng is trading 0.2%higher. SGX Nifty is trading flat at 9,184. Indian ADRs ended the day on a mixed note. Among financial ADRs, ICICI Bank closed 0.8% higher, while HDFC Bank gained 0.7%. Among IT ADRs, Wipro gained 0.2% and Infosys lost 0.5%. Tata Motors ADR gained 0.4%.
