Sensex, Nifty open weak; ONGC, Tata Steel, Infosys gainers ---- 29 April 2016

The market is dragged by selling pressure at opening on Friday. The Sensex is down 28.37 points or 0.1 percent at 25574.73, and the Nifty slips 4.85 points at 7842.40. About 244 shares have advanced, 143 shares declined, and 36 shares are unchanged. 

                                             
ONGC, Tata Steel, Hindalco, Infosys and Cipla are top gainers while ICICI Bank, M&M, TCS, Axis Bank and Bajaj Auto are losers in the Sensex.

The Indian rupee has opened marginally higher at 66.48 a dollar on Friday compared to 66.52 per dollar in previous session.

The 30-share index was trading at 25,574, down 28 point or 0.11 per cent. It touched a high of 25,618.87 and a low of 25,547.45 in morning trade. 

The Nifty50 was trading at 7,840 down 7 points or 0.08 per cent. It touched a high of 7,845.80 and a low of 7,831.60 in the first 30 minutes of trade. 

The S&P BSE Midcap Index was up 0.14 per cent and BSE S&P Smallcap Index was trading 0.20 per cent higher.Midcap Index was up 0.14 per cent and BSE S&P Smallcap Index was trading 0.20 per cent higher. 

ONGC (up 1.5 per cent), Tata Steel (up 1.3 per cent), Cipla (up 0.7 per cent), Maruti Suzuki (up 0.53 per cent), and Adani Ports (up 0.5 per cent), were the major Sensex gainers. 

Bharti Airtel (down 1.4 per cent), ICICI BankBSE -1.52 % (down 0.8 per cent), M&M (down 0.7 per cent) and Asian Paints (down 0.5 per cent) were the only Sensex losers.
