Sensex, on Tuesday, closed 8 points up at 31103 due to profit booking. Among sectors, Infra, realty and Power gained over 0.6% to 0.8% each. Among stocks, HDFC, Lupin and Power Grid gained over 1.5% to 1.9% each. Market breadth was flat with 1345 declines against 1338 advances.
Nifty closed 10 points down at 9,606. Today, we expect markets to open on a flat note on the back of steady global cues.
US Markets closed on a positive note. Dow closed 0.4% higher and Nasdaq closed 0.7% higher due to appreciation in technology stocks. US markets, today, will see data releases on manufacturing sales m/m, unemployment claims, capacity utilization rate, and industrial production m/m.
Asian markets are trading on a mixed note; Nikkei is trading flat while Hang Seng is trading 0.4% lower. SGX Nifty is trading 9 points low at 9,606. Indian ADRs ended the day on a mixed note. Among financial ADRs, ICICI Bank closed 1.3% higher, while HDFC Bank closed 1.7% higher. Among IT ADRs, Wipro closed 1.5% down and Infosys gained 0.5%. Tata Motors ADR remained flat.
