Sensex, on Monday, closed 216 points up at 29048 on hopes of BJP win in UP polls. Among sectors, Auto, Infra and Oil & gas gained over 1.2% to 1.3% each. Among stocks, Adani Ports, Tata Motors and Reliance gained over 2.1% to 3.7% each.Market breadth was positive with 1,504 advances against 1,388 declines.

Nifty closed 66 points up at 8,963. Today, we expect markets to open on a flat note on the back of steady global cues.

US Markets closed on a positive note. Dow closed flat while Nasdaq closed 0.2%higher. U.S. stocks were little changed on Friday as investors assessed Federal Reserve chair Janet Yellen’s intention to hike rates at the central bank’s March meeting. US markets, today, will see data releases on Factory Orders m/mand FOMC Member Kashkari Speaks,.

Asian markets are trading on a mixed note;Nikkei is trading 0.5% lower while Hang Seng is trading 0.2% up. SGX Nifty istrading 15 points up at 8,936. Indian ADRs ended the day on a mixed note. Amongfinancial ADRs, ICICI Bank closed 0.4% higher, while HDFC Bank lost 0.2%. AmongIT ADRs, Wipro closed 0.3% down and Infosys gained 0.7%. Tata Motors ADR gained0.5%.

Shree Cement has secured supply of 60,000 tonnesper annum of coal from South Eastern Coalfields. The notified price per tonneis Rs 970.

Hatsun Agro commissions 24 MW capacity wind power plants at Tamil Nadu

Hatsun Agro Product (HAP) has commissioned wind power plants with 24 MW capacity in Tuticorin district, Tamil Nadu. A solar plant with 550 KW capacity is getting ready to be commissioned during March2017 in Dindigul district, Tamil Nadu. The wind and solar projects costing Rs 180 crore is expected to generate around 73 million units of electricity per annul which will be utilized for captive consumption. The green energy projects will meet 75% of the power requirements of the company. The wind power project commissioned by Gamesa India comprises of 12 Wind Turbine Generators which is of latest technology and has a capacity of 2 MW each. The operational life of the project will be around 25 years.
