The market has opened in green but the Nifty is still below 8250. The 50-share index is up 7.95 points or 0.1 percent at 8228.75 and the Sensex is up 42.55 points or 0.2 percent at 26885.58. About 345 shares have advanced, 147 shares declined, and 40 shares are unchanged.
Lupin, GAIL, Cipla, Sun Pharma and M&M are top gainers while Adani Ports, Hero MotoCorp, Tata Steel, Asian Paints and Maruti are losers in the Sensex.

The 30-share index was trading at 26854, up 11 points or 0.04 per cent. It touched a high of 26901.42 and a low of 26843.09 in morning trade.

The Nifty50 was trading at 8218 down 2 points or 0.02 per cent. It touched a high of 8,230.70 and a low of 8,217 in the first 30 minutes of trade.
The S&P BSE Midcap Index was up 0.22 per cent and BSE S&P Smallcap Index was trading 0.37 per cent higher.
M&M (up 1.5 per cent), SBI (up 1.1 per cent), Cipla (up 0.9 per cent) and HUL (up 0.7 per cent) were the major Sensex gainers.
Adani Ports (down 1.6 per cent), Tata Steel (down 1.09 per cent), Coal India ..(down 0.95 per cent), Tata Steel (down 0.75 per cent) were major Sensex loser.
The S&P BSE Midcap Index was up 0.22 per cent and BSE S&P Smallcap Index was trading 0.37 per cent higher.
