The market has opened in green on Monday. The Sensex is up 101.04 points or 0.4 percent at 25590.61 and the Nifty is up 26.55 points or 0.3 percent at 7841.45. About 542 shares have advanced, 166 shares declined, and 45 shares are unchanged.
Adani Ports, ITC, Dr Reddy's Labs, Tata Motors and Infosys are top gainers while Hero MotoCorp, HUL, SBI, Bharti Airtel and ICICI Bank are losers in the Sensex.
The Indian rupee opened lower by 13 paise at 66.90 per dollar versus 66.77 Friday.
The 30-share index was trading at 25,477, down 12 points or 0.05 per cent. It touched a high of 25,606.92 and a low of 25,433.60 in morning trade.
The Nifty50 was trading at 7,812 down 2 points or 0.03 per cent. It touched a high of 7,845.65 and a low of 7,796.90 in the first 30 minutes of trade.
The S&P BSE Midcap Index was up 0.08 per cent and BSE S&P Smallcap Index was trading 0.37 per cent higher.
Dr Reddy's Laboratories (up 2.9 per cent), Tata Motors (up 1.4 per cent), Adani Ports (up 1.3 per cent), BHEL (up 0.6 per cent) were the major Sensex gainers.
SBI (down 1.9 per cent), Bharti Airtel (down 1.6 per cent), HUL (down 1.4 per cent) and Axis Bank (down 1 per cent) were the major Sensex losers.
